I have the
honour to bring to your kind notice that the All India Archaeological Service
Association which is the One and Only Recognised Association in Archaeological
Survey of India taking care to improve the service conditions of its nearly 169
cadres of non-gazetted employees working throughout the length and breadth of
our proud country striving day and night to protect our rich cultural heritage
for posterity. This Association is
maintaining the composite character of this five decade old Association very
successfully and earned the goodwill of not only the Members but also the
Officers across the nation as well.
Further, I
write to inform you that the Directorate is adopting step motherly treatment
towards the Association and in spite of repeated requests in oral and writing,
they have failed to comply in implementing
the decisions as agreed in the J.C.M.
Meetings for the past 2 years. Many a
resolutions mainly regarding the filling up of vacant Group D and C Posts,
Absorption of Long outstanding Temporary Status Casual Labourers and issue of
orders for the Compassionate Appointments pending for years together etc. adopted in the CWC Meeting held at Aurangabad on 22nd
April 2012 remains unsolved. However, in
order to have a healthy and homogenous atmosphere between the Organization and
the Association, this Association tried its level best to enter into amicable
settlement with the Directorate, and in spite of this, no concrete decision was
taken by the Directorate till date.
Hence, the C.W.C. has submitted a Charter of Demands containing 16
points to the Directorate and also taken a decision of staging a massive dharna
on 23rd and 24th August 2012 in front of the Directorate
office, in case our legitimate demands are
not fulfilled within a reasonable time of 15 days. I also write to inform you that thousands together employees of ASI across the
country are taking part to make the Dharna a Historic and grand success.
I am sure, lin the overall interest of the employees working
in this century old organization which is organizing its 150 years of
celebratrion across the country and arranging yhear long programme, you will
not allow us to take such unpleasant steps under your tenuare and you will
intervene personally to take suitable action to fulfill our above legitimate
and genuine demands. I crave your urgent
attention. I shall be highly greatful to you, if you could kindly intimate me
the course of action taken in this regard at the earliest.
Yours faithfully,
(B.A. Chandra Shekhar)
